# Was bedeutet DTMF?

DTFM bedeutet **Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency** (Doppelton-Mehrfrequenz). Einfacher ausgedrückt handelt es sich dabei um Tastentöne.

**Wann brauche ich DTMF?**

Bei Anrufen an einen **Sprachcomputer**, der eine Eingabe via Tastenton verlangt geschieht dies über DTMF. Außerdem kommt DTMF bei einem Anruf an den **sipgate Anrufbeantworter** zum Einsatz, da dieser nach einem Pin via Tastenton fragt. Aber auch bei verschiedenen Telefonie-Features wie **Makeln und Transferieren** benötigt man DTMF.
