# How do I set up the function keys on the snom phone?

Assign functions to the function keys on snom IP phones with sipgate – set up speed dial and forwarding.

All snom phones (with the exception of the cordless models M3 and M9) allow the function keys to be assigned sipgate functions. The following functions can be assigned to the corresponding keys:

* **Record**
* **Call swapping**
* **Transfer**
* **Conference**

To do this, open the web interface of your phone. Select **setup** and then **Function keys**. Change the **key assignment** as shown in the image below:

If, for example, you want to forward a caller directly to a **specific extension** please proceed as shown above with the **keys P1 to P12** In doing so, replace the **example numbers** simply with the numbers to which you want to forward calls.

#### Set up function key for Pick Up:

Starting with P1, select the desired key and define the type as direct dialing (if applicable, SpeedDial). Define at **Number** the command: \*9

#### Set up call forwarding on function keys

Call forwarding can also be programmed onto one of the freely programmable function keys.

➔ Please log in to the **web configuration** of the phone.

➔ Select the menu item **Function keys.**

➔ Select one of the freely programmable keys.

➔ Under **Context** select the identity for which the forwarding should apply.

➔ Under **Type** the option **Forward to** .

➔ Enter under **Number** the phone number to which calls are to be forwarded.

➔ Enter in the field **Short form** a unique identifier for you.

➔ Click on **Apply**\\

If you then press the function key, it will light up continuously. The display shows the message at the bottom **Forward all: phone number**. If multiple identities are stored in the phone, the forwarding is only shown on the display if the relevant identity was selected using the phone's cursor keys.
