# How can I set the phone to inactive (DND)?

You have the option of switching your phones on or off, for example to avoid receiving calls for a certain period of time. Your phone will then not ring until you switch it back on. As soon as you set the phone to **Inactive** inactive, this phone is no longer reachable for callers.

## **Here's how:**

Click on **My telephony** and then in the left navigation menu on **Telephony**. Now you can click on the desired **Phone** in the middle column of the routing. A window will open. You now have the option to move the slider for **DND** (Do Not Disturb) to **Active** or **Inactive** set.

**Important:** If you set a phone to DND, your forwarding settings apply in the event **Busy***.*
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Tip: Some phones have their own DND function integrated directly into the device. In this case, there may be differences in forwarding behavior.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.sipgate.de/cloud-telefonanlage/en/using-sipgate/telefonie/wie-kann-ich-telefon-auf-inaktiv-stellen-dnd.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
