How can I block certain call destinations?

Block call destinations in sipgate - as an admin, block expensive international numbers or specific phone numbers.

Whether expensive international destinations or certain phone numbers – as an admin, you have the option, Call destinations to block them for yourself and your employees. To edit the call blocks, click on the menu item in the account management user. This will take you to the overview of your users. Now select the team member for whom you want to block call destinations. On the left, click on Permissions and thus get to the call blocks.

With a click on the respective slider, you can now set up and manage the call blocks. Using the sliders, you select for which type of connections you want to block calls block for: international and special numbers, paid destinations, expensive international destinations, and mobile destinations with roaming outside the EU. After setup, it can take up to 15 minutes for the new settings to take effect.

International and special numbers

If you as an admin block these call destinations, users cannot special numbers such as 01801, 01802, 01803, 01804, 01805, 01806, 01888, 0700 and 0800. In addition, all international calls are blocked. You can find the prices for these outgoing calls in our price list.

Important: It is generally not possible, to call the following special numbers from the sipgate network: 0137, 0138, 01212, 01807, 0185, 0181, 0188, 0900 as well as 118xx. So these call destinations do not need to be blocked separately.

Paid destinations

If the paid destinations are blocked, users can only make internal calls and calls within an existing flat rate (Germany flat rate, mobile flat rate).

Expensive call destinations abroad

For newly created users, expensive international call destinations are automatically blocked. If blocked call destinations are dialed anyway, the following announcement is played: "Hello, for security reasons some destinations abroad are blocked for your sipgate account. Shortly you will receive a link through which you can unblock the blocked destinations again." At the same time, you as the admin will receive a notification by email.

Since the list of blocked destinations is constantly updated, we cannot provide a complete list of the countries included. In general, these are countries that have previously stood out at sipgate as expensive call destinations.

In principle, the countries of the EU, the USA, as well as China not belong to the expensive call destinations.

Roaming outside the EU (mobile)

Incoming and outgoing calls with a sipgate SIM card in non-EU countries are for users blocked, because roaming charges apply.
