# How do I order and activate a sipgate SIM card?

Here you can learn how to order and activate a sipgate SIM card as an admin or user.

#### Order SIM cards (Admin)

1. **Open account management**\
   Menu: **telephone system** ➜ **Mobile network**
2. **Select Book**\
   Decide whether you want mobile options for a **user** or a **user-independent line** to book.
3. **Select user and options**\
   Select the desired user and activate the required mobile options.
4. **Order SIM cards**\
   Click on **Order SIM cards** and enter the desired quantity.\
   → Delivery usually takes place **within three working days**.

#### Activate SIM cards

**As admin**

1. **account management** ➜ **user** open.
2. Desired **Select user**.
3. At **Add device** click and choose device type.
4. Name the device and assign a label → **Continue**.
5. Decide whether the device **uses only data** or **can make calls** should.
6. At **Activate SIM card** click.
7. For **eSIM devices**: immediately usable.
8. For **physical SIM**:\
   Enter SIM ID (8 digits) and **Activate** click.

**As user**

1. Menu: **Mobile network** ➜ **Add device**.
2. Perform the steps as above.

#### Important information

* **Phone number & routing:**\
  Information on number assignment can be found in the help center under *Phone numbers and routing*.
* **SIM sizes:**\
  You will receive **combo SIM cards** (Standard, Micro, Nano).
* **SIM ID:**\
  Eight-digit number on the card – required for activation.
* **PIN / PUK:**
* Standard PIN: **0000**
* PUK1 / PUK2 can be found under **My Telephony** ➜ **Telephony** ➜ **mobile phone**.

#### Activate iMessage & FaceTime

For iMessage and FaceTime to work:

1. Assign the device a **mobile phone number** .
2. On the iPhone under **settings** ➜ **messages** ➜ **iMessage** and **FaceTime** activate.
3. The device automatically sends an **activation SMS** to the Apple server (GB).
4. After a few seconds, a response is sent by SMS (status visible in the event list).
