# What is the automatic third-party protection?

Every sipgate eSIM and SIM card comes with third-party blocking activated by default. But what does that actually mean in concrete terms?

With third-party protection, ordering and payment via the mobile phone bill are automatically blocked. Expensive premium services that are billed via the mobile phone bill are therefore generally excluded from use. These services can still be used with other payment methods such as credit card or direct debit. However, this requires actively entering the relevant data.
