# Why don’t anonymous calls ring on my sipgate SIM or eSIM?

If you do not receive calls on your SIM card or eSIM from sipgate, this is usually because an anonymous-call filter is set on the iPhone, or because on an Android smartphone phone numbers that are not saved as contacts are blocked. In this article, you will learn how to change the respective settings.

#### Anonymous calls do not ring on the sipgate SIM/eSIM on the iPhone

\
Cause 1: In the sipgate account, an "anonymous-call filter" is stored and active in the respective channel<br>

* See <https://app.sipgate.com/my-channels>

Solution 1: In the sipgate account, delete or deactivate the "anonymous-call filter" in the respective channel

\
Behavior 2: Call goes straight to iPhone VoiceMail with announcement "Your call has been forwarded to VoiceMail .."\
Cause 2: iPhone ➔ Settings ➔ Phone ➔ Check Unknown Callers: Silent\
Solution 2: iPhone ➔ Settings ➔ Phone ➔ Check Unknown Callers: Never

\

Cause 4: iPhone ➔ Settings ➔ Focus ➔ Do Not Disturb / Driving / Sleeping: ON\
Solution 4: iPhone ➔ Control Center ➔ disable current Focus mode

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.sipgate.de/cloud-telefonanlage/en/using-sipgate/mobilfunk/warum-klingeln-anonyme-anrufe-nicht-auf-meiner-sipgate-sim-oder-esim.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
