Frequently asked questions and answers about MultiSIM
FAQ about the MultiSIM function in sipgate – use multiple SIM cards for one plan.
To use multiple devices with one plan, you can book additional eSIM or SIM cards via your account. You then use one phone number, booked data allowance, and the flat-rate voice plan on multiple SIMs.
How can I book additional SIM cards?
➔ As an admin, click in your account on My Telephony and Telephony.
➔ As a user, click on the left in the navigation on Telephony
➔ Next, click at the top right on Add device.
➔ Select Mobile device and click on Continue.
➔ Assign a name, an icon, and choose whether you want to use telephony or internet.
➔ Now choose Activate eSIM or only Activate SIM card and click on Continue.
➔ If you activate the SIM card: Enter the SIM card ID and activate it.
➔ If you activate an eSIM: Choose whether you want to use an Apple iOS device or an Android device .
➔ Scan the QR code with your smartphone and wait for the activation .
What is the data automation feature?
Under My Telephony you can manage your data options under the menu item Mobile network . With data automation, the data volume is automatically topped up as soon as it is used up. Data automation applies up to four times per month. You can decide whether you want to turn off data automation or continue with an additional 500 MB or 1 GB. Unused data volume expires at the end of the month.
Which devices are additional SIMs compatible with?
The additional SIM can be used in any device that has an eSIM or a SIM card slot. The product range extends from smartphones to tablets, notebooks, and smartwatches, all the way to IoT devices.
Can I use the Apple Watch with additional SIMs?
No, the Apple Watch is currently not usable on the sipgate network.
How much do additional SIMs cost?
Additional SIMs cost 4.95 euros gross per month per eSIM or SIM card. In the first month, a SIM is charged proportionally after activation.
Who can book additional SIMs?
Both admins and users can book additional SIMs. When additional SIMs are activated by a user, the account admins are informed by email.
Can I book both eSIMs and SIM cards as additional SIMs?
Yes. When booking additional SIMs, either an eSIM can be activated immediately or a classic free SIM card can be ordered.
Can I book different data volumes for my additional SIMs?
No, the additional SIMs are always linked to the data flat rate of the main SIM.
What can I do if I need more LTE data volume?
To book additional data volume, users can order 500 MB data snacks for 4.95 euros at any time. To do so, they only need to send an SMS with the content 500 to the number +495555. As soon as 80 percent of the data volume has been used, the affected users will also receive an SMS with all information about the data snacks. If the LTE data volume is regularly insufficient, account admins can book a larger volume (max. 10,000 MB) for the relevant users at any time. This data volume is available immediately after booking.
Can I also make calls via additional SIMs?
Yes, with the additional SIMs you can make and receive calls. For outgoing calls, the phone number of the main SIM is always displayed.
