First steps in sipgate mobile
First steps with sipgate mobile - activate SIM card, set up device, and make mobile calls.
With sipgate, you can make calls not only in the office or at home, but also on the go in the sipgate mobile network. What do you need for this? A mobile-capable phone and a SIM card.
To set up your mobile phone for mobile service with sipgate, you first need to create it in your account under Telephony in the routing overview. You can choose whether you want to activate an eSIM or a physical SIM card for your mobile device. Information on setting up your device can be found in the help center article Configure smartphones, tablets & co..
For your information: All SIM cards and shipping are free of charge.
It is best to check beforehand whether your mobile phone supports eSIM. If so, you can eSIM activate it with one click on the button. Now specify which type mobile phone you would like to use and follow the instructions on the screen.
If you need a physical SIM card you can order it in advance in your account management under Contracts & products by clicking there on Order SIM cards. The other way is via the item Activate SIM card when creating the mobile device described just now, after which you either enter your SIM ID already available or order a SIM card .
Book mobile phone numbers
To use your mobile phone with the SIM card, you can either route an existing phone number to the device or use or book existing mobile numbers. You can choose between a block of 3, 10, or 100.
You can read how to assign mobile numbers in the article Set up account after.
Set caller ID from mobile phone
On your mobile phone you have the same option as with a phone to set your outgoing caller ID individually. To do this, click under My Telephony on the menu item Telephony and select your desired mobile device. You can now click on the menu item in the expanded menu device settings and set the outgoing caller ID there.
Important: The configured outgoing caller ID is set for all devices within a device group
When calling abroad, your sipgate number is usually displayed instead of the number you assigned yourself – we have no influence over this.
For SMS sending, the following applies: You can only set outgoing caller IDs that are stored in your account. If you set a number as the sender that is not in your account, then when sending SMS, a number from your account is automatically set as the sender.
If the outgoing caller ID is suppressed, the sender is “sipgate”.
The sipgate mobile network
sipgate operates its own core mobile network within Telefónica Germany's network. In doing so, we use only Telefónica's cell towers – we developed the actual technology behind it ourselves. So you make calls and surf in the sipgate network.
Book a tariff and make calls abroad
The Prices and tariffs page DE all-network flat rate listed under basic functions covers all calls made from the sipgate landline network. Anyone who also wants to use the benefits of the all-network flat rate with their mobile device must book it separately for mobile service. You can make calls in all countries of the European Union with your sipgate SIM card. Use of your SIM card in non-EU countries is partially possible. The prices for use in non-EU countries as well as the list of countries in which the SIM card works can be found on our website.
Activate and deactivate call waiting on the mobile phone
In many cases, call waiting cannot be set or turned off directly via the device, but must be configured manually using a key combination.
Dial *43# ➔ dial key to activate call waiting
Dial #43# ➔ dial key to deactivate call waiting
Am I also reachable at my extension number? Yes, even when on the go you can be reached by your colleagues at your extension number.
Reachability via extension number via SIM To reach another person from the sipgate account via extension, simply dial the extension number followed by a *. If you want to call extension 10, enter 10* and start the call.
Important: Call forwarding to an extension padded with zeros is not possible.
