# How do I set up the sipgate fax printer for Windows?

Sending faxes doesn't only work via the sipgate web interface, but also directly on your device with the sipgate fax printer. Here you can[ the 32-bit Windows version of the fax printer ](https://sipgate-faxdrucker.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/SipgateFaxdruckerInstall_x86.msi)and [the 64-bit Windows version here](https://sipgate-faxdrucker.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/SipgateFaxdruckerInstall_x64.msi) download it and send faxes conveniently from your desktop from now on. With **Windows** you send faxes via the application **Print**.

**Important**: For Windows version 3.24, login no longer works because of an API shutdown. For this, please use the **fax printer version 4.3.3.1** from the **sipgate homepage** download.

➔ After you have downloaded the sipgate fax printer for Windows, follow the instructions of the **installation wizard**.

➔ After the program has been installed, you will find the **sipgate fax printer** automatically among your **configured printers**.

➔ To be able to send your documents as a fax, you must first log in with your sipgate credentials. To do this, press the keyboard shortcut **Windows key + R** and enter the following path: C:\Program Files\SipgateFaxdrucker\SipgateFaxdrucker.exe and then click on **OK**. Now the sipgate fax printer opens – and you can log in in the browser.

➔ Now select the desired document and click the option **Print**. To start sending the fax, it is important that you select the **sipgate fax printer** as the printer.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.sipgate.de/cloud-telefonanlage/en/using-sipgate/fax/wie-richte-ich-sipgate-faxdrucker-fuer-windows-ein.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
