How can I set the sipgate app as the default for calls?

How to set the sipgate app as the default phone application on macOS and Windows.

Normally, on macOS or Windows, when you want to call a phone number in the browser or use click-to-dial, FaceTime or another phone application opens. But if you would prefer to make calls directly via the sipgate app, you can set the app as the default for calls.

macOS

• Open FaceTime on your Mac.

• Then click at the top in the menu bar on FaceTime and select settings .

• Scroll down and under Default for calls choose sipgate.

Windows

• Open the settings.

• Go to Default Apps and then select Default apps by protocol .

• Look in the left menu for TEL or URL:tel.

• There you can set the sipgate app as the default app for calls.

Windows 11: Default apps ➔ Select defaults by link type [Tel: sipgate] ➔ (Tel: sipgate) app

Windows 11 22H2: sipgate app cannot be selected

• Quit sipgate app

• C:\Users\User\”Your own user name”\AppData\Roaming\sipgate-desktop\FirstRun folder delete\

Note: You can find the username under C:/Users

* Restart sipgate app * Default apps ➔ Defaults by link type ➔ \[\[Tel: sipgate]\(Tel: sipgate “‌”)] (\[Tel: sipgate]\(Tel: sipgate “‌”)) configurable in the app
