# How can I set the sipgate app as the default for calls?

Normally, on macOS or Windows, if you want to call a phone number in the browser or use click-to-dial, FaceTime or another telephony application opens. However, if you prefer to make calls directly via the sipgate app, you can set the app as the default for calls.

* Open FaceTime on your Mac.
* Then click at the top in the menu bar on **FaceTime** and select **settings** .
* Scroll down and under **Default for calls** sipgate.

* Open the **settings**.
* Go to **Default apps** and then select **Default apps by protocol** .

* Look in the left menu for **TEL** or **URL:tel**.
* There you can set the sipgate app as the default app for calls.
