What can I do if the area code is dialed automatically?

Here’s how to disable automatic area code insertion in the FRITZ!Box so internal sipgate extensions are dialed correctly.

When dialing internal extensions, it often happens that they are dialed with an automatically inserted prefix and therefore no connection is established to the desired destination. When using an AVM FRITZ!Box this automatic prefix can be disabled with just a few clicks.

To do this, under the menu item Telephony under Own phone numbers the stored sipgate phone number must be edited. After the sipgate number has been opened for editing, the telephony provider at the top must first be changed from sipgate on Other providers which creates additional configuration options.

In the section Phone number format you can now select whether a country code or area code should be dialed as well. Simply choose the setting None for both options and then save by clicking on OK.
