# How do I configure the BLF function for Tiptel?

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Before programming, it is necessary that you assign all participants of the sipgate account an internal extension in the web interface. You need these internal sipgate phone numbers for programming the busy lamp keys.
{% endhint %}

Before configuration, the Tiptel IP phone must be registered with sipgate.

#### Configuration

Under the item **Keys** ➔ **Function keys** you can now set the desired keys in the web interface of your Tiptel IP phone. In the example shown here, the internal extensions “10”, “11” and “12” are programmed in the sipgate function. Please set the key type to busy lamp field (BLF). You can choose the label text freely. For parameter “1”, enter only the internal sipgate extension, e.g. “10”. Under **Account** select the corresponding sipgate account. For parameter “2”, enter the sipgate pickup code. This is currently “\*9 + extension”. In our example “\*910” and following.

Now you can see which extension is free or busy. If a key **green** lights up, the participants are free. If it **flashes red**, the participants are receiving a call. If it lights up **solid red**, the extension is on the phone.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.sipgate.de/cloud-telefonanlage/en/getting-started/konfigurationsanleitungen/wie-konfiguriere-ich-die-blf-funktion-fuer-tiptel.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
