# How do I configure the BLF function for Tiptel?

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Before programming, it is necessary that you assign an internal extension to all participants in the sipgate account in the web interface. You need these internal sipgate phone numbers for programming the busy lamp keys.
{% endhint %}

Before configuration, the Tiptel IP phone must be registered with sipgate.

#### Configuration

Under the item **Keys** ➔ **Function keys** you can now set the desired keys in the web interface for your Tiptel IP phone. In the example shown here, the internal extensions "10", "11" and "12" are programmed in the sipgate function. Please set the key type to busy lamp field (BLF). You can choose the label text freely. For parameter "1", enter only the internal sipgate extension, e.g. "10". Under **Account** select the corresponding sipgate account. For parameter "2", enter the pick-up code (call pickup) from sipgate. This is currently "\*9 + extension". In our example, "\*910" and following.

Now you can see which extension is free or busy. If a key **green** lights up, the participants are free. Should it **flash red**, the participants are receiving a call. If it lights **solid red**, the extension is on the phone.
