# What are the basic settings for users?

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="sipgate classic" %}
As a user, you can configure many settings yourself. Booking phone numbers is reserved for admins only, but you can manage your assigned numbers.

* **Phone numbers & routing:** In the section *Telephony* determine which number rings on which device, set up call forwarding and manage your voicemail.
* **Set up devices:** Under *Telephony → Add device* add VoIP phones, mobile or external devices. For VoIP, you can find the access data and setup instructions under *Edit routing*. Activate mobile devices with SIM or eSIM.
* **sipgate app:** Simply install, log in and start calling right away.
* **Language:** Under *My telephony → user settings → language* you can select English.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="sipgate neo" %}
In addition to the previous functions, extra options are available.

* **Forwarding:** Under *Channels → Edit routing* determine when and where calls are forwarded (e.g. voicemail, announcement, another user or channel).
* **Notifications:** Under *Settings → Notifications* enable emails for voicemails, faxes, SMS and calls.
* **Block list:** Under *Settings → Block list* block unwanted phone numbers.
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.sipgate.de/cloud-telefonanlage/en/getting-started/alles-fur-den-start-mit-sipgate/was-sind-die-grundlegenden-einstellungen-fuer-user.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
