# What value-added tax applies if you live outside Germany?

Information about VAT for companies from EU member states and third countries.

#### **Companies from EU member states**

If the VAT identification number is provided, the invoice will be issued without VAT. The VAT ID must be provided when placing the order.

#### **Business customers and private individuals in non-EU countries (non-EU member states)**

Sales to private individuals and business customers in non-EU countries are generally in Germany **not subject to VAT.** These are tax-exempt deliveries.
