# How can I port my phone numbers to other providers?

This is how you port landline and mobile numbers from sipgate to another provider - free of charge and uncomplicated.

#### Number porting after contract end

The porting of one or more numbers to another provider is possible. To initiate the transfer, please commission **your new provider**, who will initiate everything necessary.

#### Take your landline numbers with you

The export of landline numbers is **free of charge**. For landline numbers, a maximum of 10 individual numbers or one number block per order can be ported.

When exporting mobile numbers, there are **also no costs**. However, only one mobile number can be exported per order.

#### Take your mobile numbers with you

One of your employees wants to leave the company, but would like to keep the mobile number they have been using? No problem, at sipgate you can also take mobile numbers to another provider. To do this, you must **release the number for porting**. You can only grant this release as **Administrator** granted. It is valid for a period of **30 days**.

**Here's how:**

Go to your sipgate as admin **account management**. Here select the navigation item **Phone numbers** from the list of your account-wide numbers, navigate to the mobile number that you want to release for porting to another provider. You also have the option of releasing a single mobile number from a block of mobile numbers or even the entire block for porting. To do so, click the button with the three dots (context menu) to the right of the list entry and select **Release for porting** from. Now porting can be started with a new provider. Various data will be requested there.

**Important**: To ensure the porting works smoothly, the details provided must be identical to the sipgate data. This data is:

* mobile phone number
* Number holder: your full company name
* Provider: sipgate (sometimes also sipgate Wireless or Vintage Wireless)
* Type of contract: business
* Porting date: as soon as possible
* sipgate customer number (seven digits)
  {% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.sipgate.de/cloud-telefonanlage/en/account-management/rufnummern-verwalten/wie-kann-ich-meine-rufnummern-zu-anderen-anbietern-mitnehmen.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
