# How do I prepare the CSV contact import for Windows?

You have the option to import contacts from CSV files into your account. The .csv files must be encoded in UTF-8 (Unicode) for contact import.

You can format CSV files in UTF-8 on Windows as follows:

Open the file with Notepad

**Save as**

Click File > Save As

**Choose encoding**

Select UTF-8 under Encoding
